| Music From Past To Present |
The rebirth of swing has brought new musical flavor with modern instruments. The big bands of old still seep through the tracks of today with their horns and upbeat tempos. Musicians of today such as Brian Setzer has taken music from the old and transformed it by adding guitar and digital processessors to give it a more modern effect. Ryan Setzer took Louis Primas classic "Jump, Jive & Wail" and added his flair to make the soundtrack for the new advertising campaign. Many former punk and ska bands have jumped down the band wagon to capitalize from the swing revival. One such band the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, has taken their original punk sound and jumped into the swing market. In the clubs today kids are swinging to the new swing sounds but also like to get down to the original toons as well.

In the 1940's kids were swinging in flapper outfit for the girls and zoot suits for the guys. The swing dance clubs revolved around a rebelous party atmosphere for the youth. Along with the fashion styles swing dancing as a whole went back into the closet for over fifty years. With todays technology and communication swing has made a revival sweeping harder than it did the first time around. Kids today with the help of clothing stores, such as Gap, have made their own fashion style for the new swing. However, many have opened up their grandparents closets, and took out the flapper and zoot suit outfits which can still be found on the dance floors today. | Styles From The Grandpa's Closet To The Gap
